Local creatures. Cuttle Fish, Stingrays, White Ear Drummer and an assortment of fishes. Amenities. Toilets in the Golf Club. Experience Level. Beginners to Advanced depending on air consumption and distance travelled. Precautions inc Wind, Waves, Currents, Tides. Offers shelter from Southerly Winds S-W and S-E. Best on incoming tide due to tidal movement. Not advisable in moderate swells. Especially North Easterly ones. This will result in unfavourable swell conditions. Best time to dive . Any incoming tide. Not recommended on an outgoing tide, due to a strong resulting current. Where to enter/exit. Best just to the left of the pool. There is a deep channel you can follow out into the bay. Same when exiting. Remember reg in mask on. Alternative there is a ledge thirtey metres to the left of the channel. Suitable for exits as well. Watch for Sea Urchins. Shoulder roll entry is advised. Navigation Once clear of channel or ledge, head in a N-E direction follow the wall and rocks on your right along the sand . It will gradually change to a E S-E direction. On the way back the rocks will be on your left. Look carefully as you will be surprised what you can see here. There are numerous Nooks and Crannies to explore! Heading back West-South West. Points of interest. Lots of Nooks ,Crannies and Ledges. Its common to see stacks of golf balls because of the golf course opposite the dive site. Tips (from the pro) Be careful of slippery rocks and depth of entries. The max depth will usually be around the 10 mtr mark. Best on flooding tide. |
