Hi Everyone, My name is Jamie and I am a PADI IDC Staff instructor with SDA and I have also earned a rating as an SSI TechXR Instructor after being trained by Peter Cross himself. I started diving in 2006. The underwater world had long been a source of curiosity to me and I just had to learn to dive, the journey was amazing and since that day, Scuba Diving has become my sole passion. In the few years since I have learnt to dive, I have been lucky enough to travel to exotic destinations such as New Guinea, Micronesia and the Great Barrier Reef to name just a few, but each and every time I am more than happy to return to my home waters of Sydney as there is some of the best diving in the world in our backyard.
My other passion has always been history and that has lead me down the Technical diving path. Off Sydney we have loads of wrecks and each and every one has its own tragic story. Exploring these is like taking a step back in time.
Now my diving passion has turned more towards bringing others into this world I find so fascinating. Be it introducing the experienced diver into the Tech world in depths beyond or taking a first time diver on their maiden voyage, I never fail to get a huge high seeing their eye popping glee.
The best dive I have ever done is without a doubt the wreck of the SS President Coolidge in Santo, yet there have been hundreds of others that rank high on the list. The SS Yongala wreck off Townsville, The Amazing Fish Rock Cave, Georges wreck in 60 Mtrs near Rabaul in PNG, The Blue Corner in Palau or the wreck of the Tuggerah off Port Hacking.
To anyone looking to start the journey in Scuba, I can only hope your journey is as fulfilling as mine.
